Learn to Sail Level I and II
Level I teaches adults the basics of sailing: parts of the boat, points of sail, tacking/jibing, sail trim, knots,
helmsmanship, rules of the road and docking. This class gets you US Sailing Basic Keelboat certified (the industry's best certification) once you pass the class. This class includes a US Sailing Basic Keelboat book, log book and a 1 year membership to US Sailing.
Level II builds on the concepts learned in Level I course. We will also teach the basics of racing and spinnaker handling.
Classes are scheduled on a first come, first served basis as there is limited space available. We like to keep our class size small so we can maximize your time on the water. Students are expected to wear proper sailing attire (for example non-marking shoes) and bring a life jacket, water bottle and sunscreen. These courses are hands-on with more time spent on the water and less time spend in the classroom. It is expected that you read over the US Sailing Basic Keelboat book before coming to class and we will hit different points of the book throughout the course.
