The clubhouse main kitchen suffered an electrical fire early Thursday morning (9/25) due to a short in the cooling motor of an existing refrigerator. This was not related to clubhouse renovations whatsoever. Fire damage was limited to a small, 5’ x 5’ area, however, there was extensive smoke damage to much of the kitchen, requiring replacement of ceiling tiles and insulation above, cleaning of air conditioning ducts, and a top-to-bottom wash of the entire kitchen and surfaces in The Deck restaurant. A professional restoration company was brought in to help NYCC staff with the effort. It is our hope to reopen normal dining operations by Tuesday, October 5th. Until then, we are offering limited clubhouse operations as noted below:
- Lunch and dinner buffets and bar service. No a la carte menu service. Seating is available in The Deck and 36º North on the 2nd floor.
- Lunch Buffet 12-2pm (Sept. 30-Oct. 2): Soup, Salad and Deli Sandwich Buffet
- Themed Dinner Buffets 5:30-9pm
- Wednesday, Sept. 29: Pasta and Pizza Night
- Thursday, Sept. 30: Asian Night
- Friday, Oct. 1: Mexican Night
- Saturday, Oct. 2: Prime Rib Night (reservations required)
- Sunday Breakfast/Brunch Buffet: Oct. 3rd, 9am-2pm
- Friday Happy Hour 6-9pm (Oct. 1): 80s theme happy hour with bar service in the Skipper's lounge
