Date of Race: Saturday, Aug. 31 - Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019

Host Club: Norfolk Yacht & Country Club

Rules: This regatta will be governed by the “rules” as defined in the International Sailing Federation Racing Rules of Sailing (the “RRS”) as adopted by the United States Sailing Association.

Registration: Participants must register by 10:00 a.m. on the first day of the race. Please submit the registration form at the bottom of this page. The entry form will require the boat owner/skipper to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing and the other rules that govern the regatta, including the Sailing Instructions. Attempts will be made to have ODU students register off-site. Please contact Ben Schill (757-328-4492) or Eddie Wolcott (757-434-7324) in this regard.

Dinghy Classes: Hampton One Designs, Melges 14, Flying Juniors, Optimists, Optimists Green, club 420, Lasers, Laser Radials, Flying Scots, Comets, Sharks, Harbor 20s, Moths, and Sunfish. (Must have 4 boats to get a separate start for your class.) Need a boat? You may borrow one from NYCC. Please reserve a boat when you fill out the registration form.

Races: A Skipper's Meeting will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday. Three (3) or more races will be scheduled for Saturday and Sunday with the first warning signal at 11:00.

Rendezvous: Racing is planned to be on an outside course west of ODU off of Bolling Avenue light in the Elizabeth River, and/or on an inside course at the mouth of the Lafayette River. Location of the course(s) will depend on specific wind conditions.

Courses: The Sailing Instructions will describe or illustrate the course options and indicates how these will be signaled by the Race Committee. It is anticipated that courses will consist of one or more triangles or windward leeward.

Awards: Awards will be made September 1, 2019 at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instructions for the regatta are available here and will be posted on the day of the race. Amendments to the Sailing Instructions will be made on the official notice board by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the race.
