The Norfolk Yacht and Country Club is a private club that welcomes reciprocal visitors provided that they have a current membership card or reciprocal letter from their yacht club. Upon arrival at the Club, visitors are asked to register at the Dock House. Mooring of visiting yachts is subject to availability and approval by the Harbor Master.   All visiting boats are required to make docking arrangements with the club before arrival.

Reciprocal guests are welcome to enjoy many of the amenities at the Club. All charges must be paid for with a credit card.

NYCC is open Tuesday through Sunday. Member dining is available on the second floor of the clubhouse in our two restaurants, The Deck or 36° North. The Galley poolside cafĂ© is also open Memorial Day to Labor Day, seven days a week.


Reserve a Boat Slip

Guest Yachting Privileges

There are a small number of holidays which are designated as member only events and so it is wise  to call ahead when planning a trip to our club. All visitor berthing subject to availability and approval by the Harbor Master or Yachting Committee.


Dockage Rates for Visiting Boats

These rates apply to sponsored guests or members from other yacht clubs.

  • Days 1-7: $2.70/ft. per night 
  • Days 8-28: $0.90/ft. per day, rate for days 1-7 still applies
    • Proof of insurance and damage waiver required
    • Requires Yachting Committee approval for more than 7 days

Other Charges

Electricity*:  30 amp $5.50/cord/day
                      50 amp $11/cord/day
                      *Stays over 7 days are metered
Ice:  $3.50 per bag + 6% sales tax



Amenities

The Dock House is located between Pier A & Pier B. The Dock House has a small lounge facing the water. This is where you may stop by and help yourself to a cup of coffee, a shower, and bathroom are available.

The Marina has 30 and 50 amp electricity as well as city water available adjacent to all slips.

Pump out and refueling (unleaded and diesel) facilities are available at the end of pier A. The pump out facilities are free for any visiting yachter and fuel will be charged to your account. We also accept credit cards. Our fueling procedure requires that a dock attendant be present to assist. We do not allow self-service boat fueling. The dock attendant will be on duty from 8 AM until approximately sunset during summer boating season. When you need fuel, please call the marina staff and they will assist as fast as they can. Save these numbers in your phone: (757) 286-1752. If you can, call in advance to give the staff a "heads up" and minimize any wait times.

NYCC's guest policies have changed during Covid to protect our members and our visitors. Please see the receptionist or Dock Master for the latest policies.

We offer wireless internet inside the building and on surrounding Club patios.

Water Directions

Heading North towards the Chesapeake Bay from the Intercoastal Waterway, Downtown Norfolk or the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River: From Buoy #R36 in Port Norfolk Reach (NOAA Chart #12253) head North through Lambert’s Bend into Craney Island Reach (NOAA Chart #12245). You will pass the Norfolk Southern Coal Piers on your starboard side and the Craney Island Coast Guard Base on your port side. At Lambert’s Bend the mouth of the Lafayette River will be off your starboard bow, head Northeast from Craney Island Reach Buoy #G23 to Lafayette River Entrance Buoy #R2. Follow the channel into and through the Lafayette River until Buoy #R14, Norfolk Yacht and Country Club is on the East Side of the Lafayette River just West of the Route 337 (Hampton Blvd.) Bridge.

Heading South from the Chesapeake Bay, Hampton Roads, or James River to the Intercoastal Waterway: Head North from Buoy #R8 Norfolk Harbor Reach (NOAA Chart #12245) through Norfolk Harbor Reach to Craney Island Reach Buoy #G19. You will pass Norfolk International Terminal (a containership terminal) on your port side and Craney Island Landfill on your starboard side. Head East from Craney Island Buoy #G19 to Lafayette River Entrance Buoy #R2. Follow the channel into and through the Lafayette River until Buoy #R14. Norfolk Yacht and Country Club is on the East Side of the Lafayette River just West of the Route 337 (Hampton Blvd.) Bridge.
