Summer Sailing Program

The NYCC’s Junior Sailing Program is the oldest running summer program at the club; with a rich history, spanning over 65 years, the junior program boasts an array of alumni and coaches that range from CBYRA champions, to College All-Americans and even an Olympic Gold Medalist!

The eight-week summer camp features the International Optimist dinghy, the Flying Junior sloop, the Flying Scot and the club 420. The camp offers classes for all skill levels. Sailors range from 5 to 18 years old and do not need any formal training prior to enrollment. Give your child the unique opportunity to make new friends, learn to sail and gain confidence and independence on the water. Each year we have nearly 100 young sailors participate. Sailing is a sport for life!

Summer Registration

Many of our half day programs switch between AM and PM to allow you to enjoy NYCC Tennis in the morning, and NYCC Sailing in the afternoon!

Keeping the “FUN” in Junior Sailing

Junior Sailing isn’t all about regattas and trophies. NYCC Junior Sailing Camp has exciting activities for all ages and skill levels. While boat handling, safety and wind/weather provide a lot to be learned, instructors also incorporate fun elements into the daily routine to maximize camper enjoyment. On and off the water, NYCC Junior Sailing Camp provides a great balance of learning and fun.

This is a celebration to remember all the fun times and to hand out awards to sailors who have worked hard & showed off their sailing knowledge. Reservations are required.  It will be immediately before the Glowstick Regatta.

NYCC Glow Stick Regatta

Enjoy this fun end of the summer celebration at sunset with a BBQ on the back lawn of NYCC.  Sailors provide the entertainment by illuminating their boats and fun sailing around the NYCC harbor. Glow sticks will be provided. Feel free to decorate your boat with extra lights!
